糸を編んで場所をつくる / Weaving Threads, Forming Ground
建築・都市・芸術・哲学にまつわる出版プロジェクト Tabula Pressによる展示「糸を編んで場所をつくる」を開催します。これは進行中のマガジンの制作・編集プロセスを開くもので、「糸を編んで場所をつくる」というタイトルは、私たちが個人的に編み物に取り組んでいることに由来し、私たち自身が編んだもの・編む行為によってHAGISOの一角に新しい場所を作り出すことを試みます。
現在製作中の私たちが発行するマガジン「Tabula Fragilis」の第二号は、労働や余暇、またはその先にあるかもしれない活動について思考しています。本展では、平日はそれぞれ別の仕事をしている私たちが週末に集まって行っている編み物会において制作されたレジャーシートが展示されます。それは都市のどこでも私たちのための場所を作ることができて、私たちはその様子を記録してきました。会期中はレジャーシートに座ってこれらの記録、そして制作中のマガジンの草稿を閲覧することができます。それはまた、HAGISOのカフェの席を拡張したり、第二号のマガジンに向けた公開収録の場所となったりと、様々な読み替えが行われます。
働くことは苦しいけれど、毎日それはやってくる。知人との編み物会を通して行われる会話に始まり、韓国、バーレーンなど、ここから遠くで起こっている状況へのインタビューを通して、我々の日常生活についてもう一度俯瞰してみます。それは家の中での仕事から、もう少し遠くの（大きな）生産活動にまで意識を広げていくような過程でもあります。
Weaving Threads, Forming Ground is an exhibition by Tabula Press, a publishing project concerned with architecture, the city, art, and philosophy.
This exhibition opens up our ongoing magazine-making process as a work-in-progress. The title Weaving Threads, Forming Ground originates from our personal practice of knitting. Through the act of knitting—and through the objects we have woven ourselves—we attempt to create a new “ground” within a corner of HAGISO.
The second issue of our magazine Tabula Fragilis, currently in production, reflects on labor, leisure, and possible forms of activity that might exist beyond them. In this exhibition, we present leisure sheets produced during our knitting gatherings, which we hold on weekends while each of us works different jobs on weekdays. These sheets can be unfolded anywhere in the city to form a temporary place for ourselves, and we have continuously documented these moments.
During the exhibition period, visitors are invited to sit on these leisure sheets to view our records and drafts from the magazine-in-progress. At times, this space extends the seating area of the HAGISO café; at others, it becomes a site for public recordings toward the second issue of Tabula Fragilis. Through these shifts, the exhibition space is continually re-read and re-formed.
Working is often difficult, yet it arrives every day without fail. Beginning with conversations that emerge through knitting with friends, and extending to interviews addressing situations unfolding in places far from here—such as Korea and Bahrain—we attempt to look again at our everyday lives from a distance. This process expands our attention from work within the home to broader forms of production, allowing us to trace how labor, life, and place are interwoven.

「糸を編んで場所をつくる」の2月のトークイベントは、韓国・ソウルより、建築家のイ・ユンソクさんにトークゲストにお越しいただきます。本展示の重要なテーマである「労働」。様々なメディアを横断しながら活動されるユンソクさんの最新のプロジェクトである「労働」に関するリサーチと実践についてお話を伺います。
For February's talk event in the series “Weaving Threads, Forming Ground” we welcome architect Lee Yoonseok from Seoul, South Korea as our guest speaker. The central theme of this exhibition is “labor.” We will hear about Yoonseok's latest research and practice concerning “labor” through his work spanning various media.

Lee Yoonseok
Lee Yoonseok is an architect working across multiple media. He runs the architecture studio Various Artists and Architects … and the video project Weird Seoul. Recently, he participated in the exhibitions The Autobiography of Hilton Seoul and Performative Home, and authored the book Borrowed Livings.
